The latest important weather forecast released by the Shandong Provincial Meteorological Bureau on the 17th shows that starting in the evening of the 18th, there will be a strong rainfall process from west to east in Shandong, which is conducive to increasing soil moisture and promoting the growth of summer corn. It is understood that this rain is a result of the combined influence of warm and humid air flow and cold air, and it is expected to start from the evening of the 18th and end on the day of the 20th, accompanied by thunder and 7 to 9 level gusts of rainstorms, with a maximum hourly precipitation of 50 to 80 millimeters. The meteorological department predicts that during this rainfall period, the average precipitation in Shandong will be 30 to 40 millimeters. Among them, Heze, Jining, Zaozhuang, Linyi, Rizhao, and the southern part of Qingdao will have heavy rain and locally heavy rain, while Liaocheng, Tai'an, the southern part of Jinan, the southern part of Zibo, Weifang, the northern part of Qingdao, the southern part of Yantai, and Weihai will have moderate to heavy rain and locally heavy rain. Other areas will have light to moderate rain and locally heavy rain. Currently, over 80% of summer maize has been planted in Shandong. According to the agricultural situation dispatch of the Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as of June 17th, the province has harvested 58.69 million mu of wheat, accounting for about 97% of the total harvestable area; and has planted 45.86 million mu of corn, accounting for about 83.8% of the total planting area.
