The Israeli Ministry of Transportation prohibits Israelis from leaving the country.
Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev announced on June 16 that the Israeli government has launched an operation called "Safe Return" aimed at bringing back Israeli citizens stranded abroad due to the closure of Israeli airspace. She said, "We will conduct this work in stages, planned, and coordinated with the Ministry of Defense and aviation professionals." Regev emphasized at a press conference, "At this stage, we will not allow Israelis to travel abroad. Currently, only foreign visitors to Israel, such as diplomats, tourists, etc., are allowed to leave." She also reassured Israelis stranded abroad, saying, "There is no need to worry - you are now overseas, enjoy your time there. I know it's not easy. We will sit down with the Finance Minister to discuss how to handle this issue. I ask everyone to be patient." According to previous reports, the government has instructed Israeli airlines not to carry passengers leaving the country on rescue flights to repatriate Israeli citizens.
