IAEA: Iran's Natanz uranium enrichment centrifuges severely damaged.
According to a report from the Associated Press on June 16th, the International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi said on the 16th that the centrifuges at Iran's Natanz uranium enrichment facility may have been destroyed in an attack by Israel. Grossi told the BBC that these centrifuges may have been "severely damaged, if not completely destroyed." This was caused by a power outage from the attack on the 13th. Grossi said at a special meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors in Vienna on the 16th that since the attack on the 13th, the severely damaged Natanz nuclear facility has not suffered further damage. He pointed out that the underground part of Natanz was not attacked, but the equipment installed there may have been damaged due to the power outage. Grossi warned that the radiation pollution inside the facility is very dangerous, but the radiation levels outside the target location remain normal. He said that the above-ground part of the Natanz nuclear facility was destroyed in the attack on the 13th. The facility produces enriched uranium up to 60%. Grossi also said that four buildings at the Esfahan nuclear facility were also damaged, but there have been no reports of damage to the Fordow underground uranium enrichment facility.
