The Ministry of Transport dispatches and deploys defense measures to cope with the new round of heavy rainfall.

On June 17th, in response to the blue warning for heavy rainfall, the Ministry of Transport initiated a level four defense response to heavy rainfall. They coordinated with the transportation authorities in key provinces such as Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, and Yunnan, as well as the maritime bureaus of Guangdong and Guangxi, to ensure that the necessary measures for defending against heavy rainfall are implemented according to procedures. They emphasized on strengthening the coordination and command of the affected areas, strictly implementing control measures, enhancing duty and reporting, timely releasing travel advisory information, and making every effort to implement preventive measures. For highway defense, many affected provinces have experienced significantly higher average rainfall than the same period last year. It is important to strengthen meteorological consultations and assessments according to the specific circumstances, enhance targeted preventive measures, increase personnel presence in key sections and time periods, coordinate with traffic management departments to control traffic, and ensure timely warning, response, control, and restoration.
