The largest wind power project in Central Asia injects momentum into Uzbekistan's green energy transformation.
In the southern part of the Kyzylkum Desert in Uzbekistan, there is the largest single wind power project in Central Asia currently being constructed by a Chinese company. It consists of two wind farms, Zangardi and Bash, with an annual electricity generation accounting for 7% of Uzbekistan's total annual electricity generation. At the same time, it also injects strong momentum into Uzbekistan's transformation towards green energy. This wind power project in Bukhara region of Uzbekistan started in 2019 and is being constructed by Chinese companies. The equipment here, including turbine units and accompanying blades, are all directly shipped from China, with a convoy carrying these massive items traveling over 5000 kilometers.
