Nearly 90 trillion US dollars in energy investment will be needed to achieve Asia's net zero emissions target by 2050.

On June 16, the "2025 Asia Energy Forum" opened in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Tan Sri Tawfik, President and CEO of Malaysia's national oil company, made the above statement at the opening ceremony. This year's Asia Energy Forum will last for three days with the theme of "Achieving Energy Transformation in Asia". According to the organizers, the forum will feature more than 50 strategic dialogues on topics such as energy transformation, geopolitics, sustainable development, innovation, and talent.
