On June 17, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce issued a notice on further expanding the scope of subsidies for old-for-new consumer goods by 2025. Building on the implementation of subsidy policies for digital products such as automobiles, household appliances, electric bicycles, and smartphones, the notice further expands the range of subsidized product categories. The notice focuses on meeting the demand for smart and elderly-friendly products, providing subsidies to individual consumers in Beijing who purchase smart home products such as smart toilets, smart door locks, robotic vacuum cleaners, and garbage disposals. These four categories of smart home products are eligible for subsidies from the date of the notice's publication until the subsidy funds are exhausted. Individual consumers who purchase these smart home products will receive a subsidy of 15% of the final selling price, with an additional 5% subsidy for products that meet level 1 or higher energy or water efficiency standards. Each consumer can receive a subsidy for one product per category, and the maximum subsidy for each product is 2000 yuan.
