"Imported nine-valent HPV vaccine prices 'plummet'"
According to Red Star Capital Bureau, since May this year, many cities including Chongqing, Xi'an, Guangzhou, and Xinxiang in Henan province have reported a significant drop in the price of imported Gardasil 9 HPV vaccine. Originally priced at 1300 yuan per dose, the nine-valent HPV vaccine is now being offered as a "buy one get one free" or "buy two get one free" deal, allowing recipients to save 1300 yuan. According to relevant staff, this is a discount offered by the vaccine manufacturer, as "previously it was difficult to find one dose, but now most people who should receive it have already been vaccinated, possibly saturating the market." As early as August last year, the price of the domestic two-valent HPV vaccine "plummeted", with the government procurement price dropping to below 100 yuan, as low as the price of "a cup of milk tea". The price of imported nine-valent HPV vaccine has always been "firm", remaining at around 1300 yuan per dose since its launch. Although the price per dose has not changed, the total cost of vaccination has plummeted, leading to market speculation that this is a "price reduction in disguise". This is likely related to the launch of domestic HPV vaccines. Earlier, Wantai Biological announced that its domestic nine-valent HPV vaccine Xynne 9 had been approved for market launch. This is China's first and the world's second nine-valent HPV vaccine, breaking the market monopoly of foreign products that has lasted for more than a decade. Insiders revealed that Wantai Biological may set the price at around 700 yuan.
