On June 16th, Cainiao's Hong Kong eHub was fully equipped with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, becoming the first smart freight center in Hong Kong to have full RFID coverage. With RFID technology integrated into the entire process of unloading, security checks, storage, palletizing, and outbound delivery at the smart freight center, the efficiency of package processing at Cainiao's Hong Kong eHub can be increased by about 30% compared to traditional freight centers. RFID technology provides each cross-border package with a "digital identity card," automatically identifying it from the moment it is unloaded without the need for manual intervention. When the goods pass through the "readers" installed throughout the warehouse, the system can quickly and automatically identify the information on the "digital identity card" and update its current location and status information in real time. This greatly enhances the transparency and inventory turnover efficiency of the smart freight center, allowing for unified and efficient online management. (Securities Times)
