Hong Kong's first RFID fully covered smart freight center, Cainiao eHub, accelerates cross-border logistics.
On June 16th, Cainiao Hong Kong eHub fully adopted RFID technology, becoming the first smart freight center in Hong Kong to have full RFID coverage in all scenarios. With RFID technology integrated into every aspect of the smart freight center including unloading, security checks, storage, labeling, and outbound processes, Cainiao Hong Kong eHub's parcel handling efficiency can be improved by approximately 30% compared to traditional freight centers. RFID technology allows each cross-border parcel to have a "digital identity card", automatically identified from the moment it is unloaded without the need for manual intervention. As the goods pass through the "card readers" installed throughout the warehouse, the information on the "digital identity card" is automatically and rapidly recognized, updating the current location and status information in real-time to the system. This significantly increases the transparency and inventory turnover of the smart freight center, realizing unified and efficient online management.
