According to the Shenzhen survey team of the National Bureau of Statistics, in May 2025, the CPI in Shenzhen decreased by 0.2% month-on-month and increased by 0.1% year-on-year. The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, increased by 0.8% year-on-year. Looking at the month-on-month changes, in terms of non-food items, non-food prices decreased by 0.2% compared to a 0.3% increase the previous month. After the "May Day" holiday, travel demand declined, leading to a decrease in airplane ticket prices by 10.5% and long-distance bus prices by 7.2%. Due to the international decline in oil prices, gasoline prices also decreased by 3.7%.
