Fujian Province's leading group for disaster prevention ends the emergency response to typhoons.
This year's first typhoon "Butterfly" was no longer classified on the 15th at 20:00. The Fujian Provincial Meteorological Observatory lifted the level IV typhoon warning at 8:00 on the 16th, and continued to issue a level IV heavy rain warning. Today, the southern region of Fujian Province has overcast skies with moderate to heavy rain, with parts of Zhangzhou, Xiamen, Longyan, and Quanzhou experiencing heavy rain and localized heavy rainfall. Other areas will have light to moderate rain, with localized heavy rain to heavy downpours. Total rainfall in 24 hours will be between 50-80 millimeters, with some areas experiencing up to 150 millimeters; maximum hourly rainfall can reach 70 millimeters. Thunderstorms may be accompanied by short periods of heavy precipitation, and strong convective weather with wind gusts of 7-9 levels. According to the "Fujian Province Flood Prevention, Drought Resistance, Typhoon Emergency Plan" and the "Fujian Provincial People's Government Flood Prevention, Drought Resistance Command Emergency Response Work Regulations," the Fujian Provincial Flood Control Office has decided to end the typhoon emergency response at 8:00 on the 16th.
