Trump said the United States "could intervene" in the Iran-Israel conflict.
President Donald Trump said that the United States may intervene in the conflict between Israel and Iran. "We may get involved," Trump said in an interview with NBC on Sunday. He also noted that the U.S. has not yet intervened. The U.S. has deployed fighter jets, warships, and ground-based air defense systems near the warring countries to respond to any attacks by Iran on American assets or personnel. The U.S. has not publicly assisted Israel in launching attacks, but has helped the country with defense. In another post on "Truth Social," Trump said that multiple parties are in communication and "we will soon achieve peace between Israel and Iran!" When asked about his call with Vladimir Putin on Saturday, Trump told ABC that he is "willing" to let the Russian President mediate the conflict. "He is ready, and he called me about it, and we had a long conversation about it," Trump said. Russia is a strategic ally of Iran and the two countries have previously opposed the U.S. in conflicts in Syria and Iraq.
