The Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission recently released the statutory infectious disease epidemic for May 2025 in Zhejiang Province. In May 2025, a total of 112,451 cases of statutory infectious diseases were reported in the province, resulting in 24 deaths. Among them, there were no reported cases of illness or death from class A infectious diseases. Among class B infectious diseases, there were no reported cases of illness or death from infectious diseases including atypical pneumonia, poliomyelitis, human infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza, rabies, anthrax, diphtheria, neonatal tetanus, schistosomiasis, and human infection with H7N9 avian influenza. The remaining 19 types of class B infectious diseases reported a total of 92,532 cases of illness and 24 deaths. The top 5 reported diseases were, in order: COVID-19, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis, syphilis, and gonorrhea, accounting for 99.07% of all reported class B infectious disease cases. During the same period, a total of 19,919 cases of class C infectious diseases were reported, with no reported deaths. The top 3 reported diseases were other infectious diarrheal diseases, influenza, and hand, foot and mouth disease, accounting for 98.82% of all reported class C infectious diseases.
