Maritime Silk Road Index: Overall shipment growth has slowed down, with freight rates on multiple routes falling.

This week, the Ningbo Export Container Freight Index of the Maritime Silk Road Index released by the Ningbo Shipping Exchange closed at 1536.8 points, down 7.9% from last week. Among the 21 routes, 7 routes saw an increase in freight rates, while 13 routes saw a decrease and 1 route remained basically unchanged. Among the main ports along the "Maritime Silk Road," 6 ports saw an increase in freight rates, while 10 ports saw a decrease. The freight rate index for the European route was 1307.9 points, up 16.4% from last week; the Middle East route index was 1488.8 points, down 6.0% from last week; the Western route index was 1890.7 points, down 7.3% from last week. The freight rate index for the U.S. East Coast route was 2403.3 points, down 3.4% from last week; and the freight rate index for the U.S. West Coast route was 2231.0 points, down 31.5% from last week.
