On June 11, 2025, the Governor of the People's Bank of China, Pan Gongsheng, and the President of the European Central Bank, Lagarde, held their first annual meeting of central bank governors from China and Europe. Pan Gongsheng stated that China is committed to promoting high-quality development through high-level openness, and is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with various economies, including the European Union, to tackle global challenges together.
