On the 12th local time, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development announced that the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation will be building a large and a small nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan. Last year, the two sides started a project to construct a low-power nuclear power plant. According to the agreement reached by the leaders of the two countries this year, the project will be adjusted to build a large nuclear power plant with two units and a small nuclear power plant with two units in Uzbekistan. The construction of the small nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan is the first overseas project of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation. The project plans to build 6 reactors, with each reactor generating 55 megawatts. Construction is scheduled to start this summer, and the nuclear power plant is planned to be gradually put into operation between 2029 and 2033.
