"Painless" delivery services will be popularized nationwide.

On June 5, the National Health Commission, together with the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the National Health Commission, issued a notice on the comprehensive promotion of labor analgesia work, promoting comprehensive hospitals, obstetrics and gynecology hospitals, maternal and child health institutions, and other medical institutions providing obstetric medical services to widely carry out labor analgesia services. It proposes that by the end of 2025, all tertiary medical institutions providing obstetric medical services will be able to provide labor analgesia services; by 2027, all secondary and above medical institutions providing obstetric medical services will be able to provide labor analgesia services.
