Chinese Culinary Association: Operating conditions in the catering industry continued to improve in May and are expected to improve in the coming month.
The May China Catering Industry Performance Index report released by the China Cuisine Association shows that overall, the performance index of the catering industry in May was 49.42, a decrease of 0.26, still below the neutral level of 0.58 for the ninth consecutive month, indicating that the catering industry has not yet been able to overcome the current pressures and challenges it faces. In terms of dimensions, the current status index of the catering industry in May was 44.61, an increase of 1.27 compared to the previous month; the expected index of the catering industry was 54.22, a decrease of 1.81 from the previous month, but still above the neutral level, showing a positive outlook for the next month. In May, the current status index and the expected index gradually approached each other, indicating that although the operating conditions of catering companies still face certain pressures, the overall attitude towards the prospects of the dining market in June and the summer season remains optimistic. The China Catering Industry Performance Index consists of two dimensions, the current status index and the expected index, with 10 indicators.
