The Australian stock market rose in early trading on Friday, with the S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index up 0.1% at 8544.50 points. Among local companies with a market value of at least AUD 150 billion, Evolution Mining led the gains with a 1.9% increase, followed by QBE Insurance Group with a 1.4% rise. Sigma Healthcare's stock price rose 0.8%, ranking in the top three. The Commonwealth Bank of Australia was the biggest decliner in early trading, down 1.1%, followed by REA Group, down 0.9%. Telstra Corporation's stock price fell 0.6%. The exchange rate of the US dollar to the Australian dollar remained stable at 1 USD to 1.54 AUD.
