The new government of Portugal took office.

The President of the Social Democratic Party of Portugal and leader of the Democratic Alliance, Monte Negro, officially took office as the new Prime Minister of Portugal in the afternoon of the 5th. The new government's 16 ministers also simultaneously took their oaths of office. In the new government, the majority of key ministers from the previous government have been retained, reflecting the continuity of the new government's policies.
