In 2024, China's water consumption per 10,000 yuan of GDP decreased by 4.4% compared to the previous year.

The Ministry of Water Resources recently released the "China Water Resources Bulletin 2024". The bulletin shows that, calculated at comparable prices, the water consumption per unit of GDP and per unit of industrial added value in China decreased by 4.4% and 5.3% respectively compared to the previous year, with water efficiency steadily improving.
