The Bank of England announced on Thursday that it allocated a record 68.106 billion seven-day funds in its weekly short-term repo operations. This number is higher than the previous record of 64 billion set in April. The Bank of England provides reserves to banks through short-term repo operations while gradually selling government bonds purchased under the quantitative easing program.
