Worse than the 2008 financial crisis, Germany is now plunging into an endless abyss of bankruptcy.
After the record-breaking corporate bankruptcy case in 2024, credit insurance company Euler Hermes predicts that the total number of corporate bankruptcy cases in Germany will increase by 11% in 2025, reaching approximately 24,400 cases. It is expected that by 2026, the number of cases will increase by 3% to reach 25,050 cases. These bankruptcy cases are estimated to put around 210,000 jobs at risk in Germany. In the first quarter of this year, 16 large German companies have already filed for bankruptcy, which is 3 fewer than the same period in 2024, but still twice as many as in the same period in 2023.
