In June, parts of northeast, northwest, and Jiangnan regions have a high risk of flooding, wind, and hail disasters, with localized drought and flooding possible in the northwest.
Recently, the National Committee for Disaster Reduction and Relief Office, along with the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the China Meteorological Administration, the National Energy Administration, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, and other departments held a consultation meeting to assess the natural disaster risk situation in June 2025. A comprehensive analysis indicates that in June, many parts of the country will enter the main flood season, with the Jiangnan region gradually entering the plum rain season. Some areas in the northeast, northwest, and Jiangnan regions have a higher risk of flood, hail, and wind disasters, with possible rapid changes between drought and flood in localized areas in the northwest. There may be one typhoon making landfall or affecting the southern coast of China, with weakened intensity. Areas in East China, Central China, and Southwest China have a high risk of geological disasters in localized areas. The forest fire risk level is high in some areas of Northeast China and North China. The southern region faces a high risk of periodic heatwaves, with localized droughts possibly persisting or recurring in Henan, Shaanxi, Gansu, and Ningxia.
