The "2025 Global Wealth Report" released by the Kejie Management Consultancy, headquartered in Paris, France, on the 3rd, shows that in 2024, the number of wealthy individuals worldwide who can invest at least $1 million reached a high of 23.4 million, an increase of 2.6% compared to the previous year. This is mainly due to the growth in the number of "super wealthy" individuals who can invest at least $30 million. The company's report last year showed that in 2023, the number of global millionaires reached 22.8 million, setting a record high since statistics began in 1997. According to the report released by Kejie this year, the United States continues to lead the world in the growth of millionaires by region, driving a significant increase of 7.3% in the overall North American region. The report states that favorable interest rates and the "bullish performance of the stock market in the United States" are key factors in the growth of wealth in North America. The number of millionaires in India and Japan has also increased. However, the overall number of millionaires in Europe decreased by 2.1%. Due to economic stagnation, the UK, France, and Germany collectively lost 75,000 millionaires. In addition, the Latin American region experienced the largest decline of 8.5% due to currency devaluation and fiscal instability, with Brazil and Mexico seeing the most significant decreases. The Middle East region also decreased by 2.1% due to a drop in oil prices. The report also states that these millionaires have shown a significant increase in interest in alternative investments. As of January this year, they have, on average, allocated 15% of their investment portfolios to private equity, cryptocurrencies, and other assets.
