Car sales in the United States plummeted in May.

Industry data company Woz Information released data on the 3rd showing that in the United States, light vehicle sales in May were 15.65 million, a decrease of about 1.6 million from the revised 17.25 million in April, the largest decline since April 2020. Light vehicle sales in the United States in March were 17.83 million. The US government's 25% tariff on imported cars took effect on April 3.
