OpenAI opens memory function to ChatGPT free users.

OpenAI updated its support documentation yesterday, announcing an upgrade to the memory function of ChatGPT and making it free for ChatGPT users in order to better store and reference users' past conversation content. Note: This feature was previously only available to paying subscribers such as ChatGPT Plus and Pro, but according to the official support documentation, starting from June 3, 2025, this feature will begin to be gradually rolled out to logged-in free users. ChatGPT not only remembers specific instructions from users in the past, but also automatically references relevant content in new conversations to ensure responses are more targeted and coherent.
