Baltic Dry Index has risen for the fifth consecutive day.
The Baltic Dry Index rose for the fifth consecutive trading day, supported by higher freight rates for Capesize and Panamax vessels. The Baltic Dry Index rose by 8 points or 0.6% to 1430 points, reaching its highest level since April 4th. The Capesize vessel index rose by 33 points or 1.4% to 2333 points, the highest level since April 3rd. The average daily profit for Capesize vessels increased by $279 to $19,350. The Panamax vessel index rose by 1 point or 0.1% to 1108 points, ending an eight-day decline. The average daily profit for Panamax vessels increased by $6 to $9,973. The Supramax Dry Index fell by 6 points to 942 points, reaching its lowest level since April 15th.
