On the morning of June 3, the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress held a press conference on the "Regulations on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Marine Economy in Guangdong Province." Yu Jianhong, deputy director of the Legal Work Committee of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, introduced that the "Regulations" propose to cultivate and develop emerging marine industries, stimulate new momentum. They encourage and support electronic information enterprises to expand into the marine field, accelerate the integration and application of technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, and artificial intelligence in the marine field. They promote the consolidation and improvement of the marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry, support the development of new marine equipment such as deep submersibles, unmanned vessels, underwater robots, etc. They organize research on key technologies such as marine biological genes, functional foods, bioactive substances, vaccines, and innovative marine drugs. They improve the offshore wind power industry chain, promote technological innovation and demonstration application of deep-sea offshore wind power, and research key technologies for the extraction of natural gas hydrates. They conduct pilot projects in maritime and aerial transportation, low-altitude logistics, and all-space unmanned systems, strengthen demonstration applications of low-altitude aircraft in areas such as water rescue and maritime inspections, and support eligible areas in island and coastal areas to develop emerging low-altitude economic consumption projects.
