The organization announced last month that it plans to donate this amount over the next 20 years, and then close in 2045. This means that Gates plans to transfer billions of dollars to his foundation to achieve his goal of donating 99% of his wealth. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Gates' current net worth is around $175 billion.
