BYD has announced its latest plan: to launch a low-cost mini electric car in Japan next year.
According to foreign media reports, Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD plans to launch a low-priced mini electric car in Japan next year, launching an attack on the $18 billion microcar market in Japan. In addition, BYD disclosed sales data on June 1st, with sales of new energy vehicles in May reaching 382,500 units, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%. Among them, overseas sales of passenger cars and pickups reached 88,640 units, a year-on-year increase of 133.6%. Several securities firms stated that with the continuous enrichment of the company's overseas vehicle model matrix, improvement of production capacity layout and channel construction, and increase in self-owned capacity, it is expected that BYD's exports will continue to grow rapidly by 2025.
