Renowned macroeconomics professor and practitioner Stanley Fisher passed away recently at the age of 81. He had served as an adviser to the central banks of Israel and the United States, and had mentored a new generation of economic decision-makers. The Bank of Israel, in a statement, expressed their condolences on his passing. Stanley Fisher, also known as Stan, had been the Governor of the Bank of Israel for eight years, and later served as Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve from 2014 to 2017. His career also included positions at MIT, the IMF, the World Bank, and Vice Chairman of Citigroup.
