Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said in an interview that launching a new model to replace the bestselling Boeing 737 Max is not a top priority. He stated that the market is not yet ready for a new aircraft model, and added that Boeing is currently not financially able to invest in developing a new plane. Ortberg mentioned that Boeing is cooperating with the Trump administration, and revealed that Boeing pays less than $500 million annually for imported components needed for manufacturing products in the United States. Ortberg also said that he still believes that geopolitical tensions will not delay Boeing's "return to profitability year."
