The Ministry of Water Resources is holding discussions to deploy measures to prevent and respond to heavy rain in the southern region.

On the morning of June 1st, the Ministry of Water Resources held a consultation meeting to assess the current situation of water and flood in relevant river basins during the ongoing rainfall process, and to arrange and deploy key flood prevention work. Based on the 24-hour rainfall forecast, targeted warnings were issued to 9 provinces including Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Tibet, notifying them of the risks of small and medium-sized reservoirs and mountain flood disasters within the rainfall coverage area, reminding them to ensure the safety of reservoirs during the flood season, as well as to defend against floods in small rivers and mountain flood disasters. The China Meteorological Administration also issued mountain flood disaster weather warnings to 88 counties, including Chun'an County in Zhejiang Province and Tengchong City in Yunnan Province, with one orange warning, 27 yellow warnings, and 60 blue warnings, reminding local areas to strengthen real-time monitoring, disaster warnings, and personnel evacuation work.
