Within 24 hours, the second Russian bridge collapsed.
On June 1st local time, the acting governor of Kursk region in Russia posted on social media that a bridge in the region collapsed when a freight train was passing through. This is the second bridge collapse incident in Russia within 24 hours. On the evening of May 31st, a bridge collapsed in Bryansk region in western Russia, causing a passenger train to derail. Bryansk governor Bogomaz said that this incident has resulted in at least 7 deaths, with another 30 people being sent to hospitals for treatment. Moscow Railway Company stated that "illegal interference with transportation activities" caused the bridge to collapse, leading to the derailment of the passenger train traveling from Moscow to Krymov.
