Sudan's new Prime Minister Idris was sworn in

On May 31st local time, Sudan's new Prime Minister, Kamel Idris, was sworn in in the eastern city of Port Sudan. He will be forming a new government in the coming days. The Chairman of Sudan's Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Burhan, issued an order on May 19th appointing Kamel Idris as Prime Minister. Idris is the first Prime Minister appointed in Sudan since October 2021.
