United Nations representatives visited the Laos section of the China-Laos railway.

At the invitation of Chinese Ambassador to Laos Wang Hong, nearly 20 representatives from 10 United Nations agencies in Laos, including the United Nations Development Programme and the International Labour Organization, recently visited the China-Laos Railway in order to gain a close understanding of the project's achievements in promoting regional connectivity, improving livelihoods, and sustainable development, as well as to discuss future cooperation opportunities. The UN representatives positively evaluated the strong momentum that the China-Laos Railway has injected into Laos' economic and social development, especially in terms of facilitating people's travel, providing training and employment opportunities for Laotian youth, promoting tourism development, and enhancing regional connectivity. They expressed willingness to work together with the China-Laos Railway to promote development in Laos.
