Can India replace the "China supply chain"? The "soul" of the iPhone is still in China.

Visiting scholar at Harvard-Yenching Institute, Mo Keji, pointed out that Apple's layout in India cannot yet be considered a transfer of its core industrial driving force, but rather a cautious diversification strategy. This can be seen as an "industry backup" with an insurance-like nature, rather than a true replacement. If consumers peel off the packaging of iPhones with "Made in India" labels, they will still find plenty of Chinese imprints - components, suppliers, and manufacturing processes are all from China. Although India has made some progress in improving its manufacturing capability in recent years, it is still far from truly replacing China's position in the iPhone manufacturing system. The key issue is not that India lacks ambition, but rather that it lacks a complete industrial ecosystem.
