Haikou: It is prohibited to place shared Internet rental electric bicycles throughout the entire city.

On May 31, the Haikou Municipal Transportation and Ports Authority issued a notice stating that the current number of electric bicycles in Haikou has exceeded 2.3 million. Considering the city's road capacity, parking resources, and the fact that shared electric bicycles and shared bicycles serve the same functions such as short-distance travel and public transportation connections, internet rental electric bicycles are currently prohibited from being introduced in the entire city of Haikou. This includes any form of internet rental electric bicycle business, such as leasing or tourist rentals. Companies that have illegally introduced internet rental electric bicycles in Haikou must voluntarily retrieve their vehicles within 3 days from the date of the notice. Failure to do so will result in the Haikou Municipal Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, in conjunction with relevant departments, taking legal action to dispose of the internet rental electric bicycles.
