The second session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly was held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on May 29-30 local time. Over 1,000 representatives from around the world attended the conference, focusing on the increasingly severe global housing crisis, aiming to effectively address global housing issues through discussions, collaborations, and policy planning. Ana Claudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, stated that according to UN-Habitat estimates, over 2.8 billion people globally live in inadequate housing conditions, with over 1.1 billion living in slums or informal settlements, and over 300 million in a state of complete homelessness. In some regions of Africa and Asia-Pacific, the gap between housing needs and infrastructure is rapidly widening. In Africa, 62% of urban housing is informal; in the Asia-Pacific region, over 500 million people lack access to basic water supply, and over 1 billion people's environmental sanitation needs are not met.
