Shanghai: By the end of April 2025, the cumulative amount of personal pension funds deposited exceeded 18 billion yuan.

On May 30th, the Third Pillar Pension Insurance Promotion Conference and Personal Pension Brand Launch Conference were held in the Pudong Zhangjiang Science City Motli Community in Shanghai. Since becoming one of the first cities to implement individual pension insurance in November 2022, Shanghai has vigorously promoted policies and effectively stimulated citizens' enthusiasm to participate. As of the end of April 2025, the accumulated amount of personal pension deposits in Shanghai has exceeded 18 billion yuan, ranking among the top in the country, with an average deposit amount of about 10,000 yuan per person, ranking first in the country. In December 2024, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and four other departments announced the full implementation of the individual pension system, Shanghai is committed to promoting the continuous and standardized development of the individual pension system.
