The Netherlands is selling a type of soft candy that has tested positive for marijuana.
Recently, multiple bags of Haribo candies in the eastern region of the Netherlands were found to contain marijuana components, causing widespread concern locally. According to reports, Haribo company has confirmed that traces of marijuana were detected in a kilogram of cola-flavored candies sold in the eastern market of the country. Several consumers, including children and adults, have reported feeling unwell after consuming the related candies. The affected products are one kilogram in size, with an expiration date of January 2026. A spokesperson for Haribo Netherlands office stated that this recall is a precautionary measure, and the company is fully cooperating with the investigation, emphasizing that the current issue seems to be limited to a specific batch of products with a limited number of reported cases in a specific region. At present, the Dutch Food and Drug Administration is tracing the source of the products and potential contamination channels, and the police have not yet announced whether it involves intentional acts or criminal activities.
