International Table Tennis Federation: Election process strictly follows the rules, strongly condemns disruptive behavior.
In response to the chaos at the recent International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) representative conference, the ITTF issued a statement on their official website in the early hours of November 30th Beijing time, stating that the election process for the ITTF president strictly followed the relevant regulations. The ITTF strongly condemned the disruption of the conference and announced that the remaining agenda would be completed by November 24th of this year.
On November 27th local time, at the ITTF representative conference held in Doha, Qatar, Petra Srlin was re-elected as the ITTF president with a two-vote advantage over the other candidate, Khaled Al-Mohannadi. However, the election process sparked protests due to disputes over the online voting results, leading to chaos at the scene and the conference being interrupted. The ITTF stated that it needed to clarify the communication regarding the election results that led to the interruption of the conference, as well as baseless accusations of irregularities in the election process. They reiterated that the election process strictly followed the ITTF's relevant regulations and fully respected the rights of member associations.
