The Ministry of Water Resources has arranged and deployed work for preventing and responding to heavy rainfall during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.

According to forecasts, from May 30th to June 2nd, there will be a strong rainfall process in the northwest and southeast parts of China, as well as in the southwest, eastern Jiangnan, southwestern Jianghuai, central and western parts of South China, and Hubei. Among these areas, there will be heavy to extremely heavy rain in the eastern and southern parts of Hubei, central and southern parts of Anhui, northern parts of Hunan, northern parts of Jiangxi, southern parts of Jiangsu, Shanghai, northern parts of Zhejiang, and southeastern parts of Guizhou. Due to the rainfall, the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River basin, the along the main stem of the Han River, the lower reaches of the Han River, Dongting Lake area, Lishui River, Yuan River, Zi River, Xiang River, Poyang Lake area, Rao River, Xin River, Fu River, Xiu River, and Gan River; Beijiang and tributaries in the Pearl River basin such as Liujiang and Guijiang; Qiantang River in the Zhejiang and Fujian regions, and the areas surrounding Taihu Lake will experience significant water level rise. Some rivers in the heavy rainfall areas may experience floods that exceed warning levels.
