The Indian Ministry of Defense approves the research and development project for the fifth-generation fighter jet.

The Indian Ministry of Defense announced on May 27 that Defense Minister Singh has approved the framework plan for the fifth-generation stealth fighter project. The project is led by the Indian Aeronautics Development Agency and will involve participation of private sector. It is understood that AMCA is a dual-engine, 25-ton multi-role stealth fighter.
