Japan may help push forward a tariff agreement with the United States by providing funding and technology by mid-June. This includes investing in the Alaska liquefied natural gas pipeline project and sharing shipbuilding technology. Japanese Prime Minister Shizuka Shio expressed on Sunday that his personally designated trade negotiator, Akira Ryo, returned to Tokyo after holding the third round of talks with American counterparts in Washington. Akira Ryo is currently expressing his hope to reach an agreement before the meeting between Shio and Trump at the G7 summit planned for next month in Canada.
