Since May, there have been frequent heavy rain events in southern China. Since the 13th, there have been three consecutive heavy rain events in Jiangnan, Huazhong, and Guizhou. The precipitation in Guizhou, most of Guangxi, the northern and western parts of Guangdong, the northern part of Jiangxi, the southern part of Hunan, and the southern part of Zhejiang has been 30-80% above normal levels, with some areas even experiencing 1-2 times more rainfall than usual. It is forecasted that from May 27th to 29th, there will be another round of heavy rainfall in the southern region, with heavy to torrential rain in Guizhou, Jiangnan, and Huazhong, and in some areas of southern Jiangnan and northern Huazhong, there may even be extremely heavy rain. Specifically, the southeast of Guizhou, the southern part of Hunan, the southern part of Jiangxi, the northern part of Guangxi, the northern part of Guangdong, and the southern part of Fujian may see accumulations of 80-180mm of rainfall, with some areas receiving 300-350mm. There may also be short-lived heavy rainfall in these areas, with localized thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and other severe convective weather.
