Former Deputy Director of the Anhui Provincial Political Consultative Conference Economic Committee, Li Gong, has been expelled from the party.

The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the National Supervisory Commission reported on May 25th that, according to the Anhui Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, recently, with the approval of the Communist Party of China Anhui Provincial Committee, the Anhui Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision conducted a case review and investigation into the serious violations of discipline and law by Li Gong, former deputy director of the Economic Committee of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference. After investigation, it was found that Li Gong had lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original aspirations and missions, privately possessed and read books with serious political issues; violated the spirit of the Central Eight-point Regulations, accepted gifts, cash gifts, and consumption cards, and received banquets in violation of regulations; violated organizational principles by seeking personnel benefits for others; breached the bottom line of integrity, held and traded stocks in violation of regulations; and used his position for personal gain in selling real estate, project development, etc., illegally accepting large sums of money. Li Gong seriously violated the Party's political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, and lifestyle discipline, constituted a serious job-related violation of the law and was suspected of bribery crimes. Moreover, he did not restrain himself after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, with serious nature and adverse impact, and should be dealt with seriously. In accordance with relevant regulations such as the "Disciplinary Measures of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Punishment Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," after research in the meeting of the Anhui Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection Standing Committee and approval by the Provincial Party Committee, it was decided to expel Li Gong from the Party, cancel the benefits he enjoyed, confiscate his ill-gotten gains from violating discipline and law, and transfer his suspected criminal issues to the prosecutor's office for review and prosecution in accordance with the law, along with the assets involved.
