Five people have died in floods in southeastern Australia, and recovery work has begun.
Australia's New South Wales in the southeast has recently experienced heavy rainfall. The heavy rain has caused flooding, resulting in the deaths of 5 people. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated on the 24th that post-disaster assessments and cleanup work have been initiated, but evacuation orders for some disaster areas have not been lifted. Emergency departments have estimated that tens of thousands of buildings have been flooded, with approximately 50,000 people isolated from the outside world due to power and communication outages. As the floodwaters recede, some disaster areas are beginning to restore power and communication, but there are still over 20 flood warnings yet to be lifted, with hundreds of people remaining evacuated.
